Referring back to this post (click), this is what I mean by “design a blade based on how your blog looks/feels”.

The one on the left would be for my personal blog, fly-never-die. The wave and light blue color are for the recurring motif of water on my blog, and the orange is for the positive energy. The hatchet blade symbolizes the feel of simplicity and bluntness.

The one on the right would be for rowsbeforehoes. The mulberry-red arrow symbolizes the recurring idea from her blog that she will go forward with determination through any kind of “dark waters” (the reason for the dark blue) that she faces. It’s hard to tell, but on the vertical edge of the blade is a black strip, like the rubber edge that I’ve seen on blades that are meant to protect the edge from being chipped. I get the feeling her blades would need that.

I will do more for any of my followers once I get to 250 :)

Can we just take a moment to appreciate getting-faster?First of all… this design an oar based on someones blog is pretty much the neatest idea I’ve seen in a long time. Secondly, her blog has some of the neatest rowing pictures ever, and I literally have to make myself limit the amount I reblog her so I don’t come off like a stalker. Just take a moment to check her out if you’re into rowing because I guarantee you’ll love her blog. (plus if you follower her and ask nicely I’m sure she’ll make you an oar too ;) but don’t wait for her to get overwhelmed with all the other rowers that want one since they’re so COOL)
